Audio
Audio pieces give an immersive story experience. My experience with audio stories range from class projects to work I’ve done for The Maneater and Vox Magazine. Through my work, I’ve gained skills with microphone and recording technology as well as editing with Adobe Audition. Listen below!
Vox Voice
Part of my role as a multimedia contributor for Vox Magazine is pitching ideas for Vox Voice podcast guests. This semester, I reached out to Creekside Revival, a local country music duo, to make an appearance on the podcast. I wrote questions, recorded with them in the professional studio and edited the final package. See the full story here.
The Maneater Digest
As a multimedia staff member at The Maneater, I created a podcast episode for The Maneater Digest. I hosted sports reporter Dylan Heinrich to discuss the Cotton Bowl and his key takeaways from the game. Then, I talked with multimedia editor and MOVE writer Ava McCluer about her review of the movie “Saltburn.”
Class Project
For my Journalism 1400 profile story assignment, I chose to interview Sam Coday, a NICU nurse at MU Healthcare. I used my skills in audio work to create a story that would help listeners understand Coday’s background. I received encouraging feedback about my storytelling from both Coday and my professor when I shared this piece with them.
